Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) project:
This is the main application scenario of rock reamer. When laying long-distance pipelines (such as oil, natural gas, water supply, and sewage pipelines) or cables, first use a guide drill to form a small diameter guide hole, then use a reamer to gradually enlarge the hole, and finally drag the pipeline back into the enlarged hole. When working in rock formations, it is necessary to use a specially designed reamer for hard rocks.
Mining and ventilation system construction:
In mining tunnel excavation, mine ventilation shaft or drainage hole construction, hole extenders can be used to expand blasting holes or preset channels, improving construction efficiency and safety. Especially in the Raise Boring process, small pilot holes are drilled first, and then reverse drilling is performed from bottom to top to form large-diameter vertical shafts.
Geological exploration and core sampling:
In deep geological exploration, it is sometimes necessary to expand existing boreholes in order to accommodate larger detection equipment or conduct more accurate core analysis. The reamer can assist in completing this type of auxiliary diameter expansion operation.
